Reporting directly to the Site Manager, the Engineering Manager will provide engineering leadership and supporting the maintenance supervisors in each factory as well as the production teams. The role is also responsible for developing and deploying major CaPEX projects throughout the site.
Areas of responsibility include safety, engineering cost, engineering deliverables and maintenance schedules and ensuring all site statutory and legislative inspections are always completed and up to date.
You will be responsible for the development of the engineering team to ensure that the competency is of the correct level to drive engineering performance. In addition, you will also be responsible supporting the factory shutdowns and identifying plant improvements and the management of any contractors to undertake this work.

Key Responsibilities; 
  • Ensure that all safety legislation is complied with.
  • Ensure engineering budgets are met.
  • Manage engineering staffing levels and overtime.
  • Ensure that plant is maintained to a high standard.
  • Ensure PM tasks are completed in time and in full.
  • Ensure plant operates at required OEE.
  • Correct recording of all maintenance activities.
  • Adhere to all HSE rules and regulations inclusive of POWRA.
  • Be pro-active in carrying out duties.
  • Support team performance by sharing knowledge and best practice.
  • Ensure highest standard of housekeeping are met.
  • All work to completed to the highest standard in a timely to ensure continuous flow of production.
  • Prioritise workload - attend to critical issues first.
  • Develop the engineering teams.
The ideal candidate for the role of Engineering Manager will be a chartered Engineering (IEng or CEng) and have at least 7 years experience in a similar role.
Specific Requirements:
  • Time served apprenticeship.
  • Proven track record of developing and changing maintenance teams.
  • Experience in a production environment.
  • Experience in hydraulics, pneumatics, packaging equipment, conveyors, steam systems, pumping systems and electrical systems.
  • Experience of continuous improvement and proven track record of improving engineering reliability.
  • Mechanical/Electrical and Electronic Engineering, People Management and Communication, Budget Controls and Leadership
  • Proven track record of driving change in maintenance departments
