Job Title: Building Services Maintenance Engineer - Electrical (Temporary)
Contract Type: Ongoing Temporary, with possibility to convert to Temporary-to-Permanent

Role Summary
We are seeking a skilled and proactive Building Services Maintenance Engineer with electrical expertise to join our Estates team on a temporary basis. The successful candidate will provide professional maintenance and operational support for electrical systems across multiple sites, ensuring safety, compliance, and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities

Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive repairs on electrical systems including lighting, distribution boards, emergency systems, and control panels.

Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical faults, responding promptly to maintenance requests and emergency breakdowns to minimize disruption.

Conduct inspection and testing in line with BS7671 (18th Edition Wiring Regulations), ensuring all work is properly certified and documented.

Maintain accurate records including asset registers, compliance logs, and maintenance reports.

Coordinate and supervise external contractors for planned maintenance works to ensure quality and timely completion.

Comply with all health and safety legislation, statutory requirements, and organisational policies.

Assist with wider estates maintenance operations and support multi-skilled team activities as required.

Be available for occasional out-of-hours and weekend work to support essential maintenance activities.
Essential Qualifications and Experience

Vocational qualification in the electrical industry.

Minimum of 5 years’ experience working in electrical maintenance.

Certified in BS7671 (18th Edition Wiring Regulations).

Proven experience in fault-finding, inspection, testing, and certification of electrical systems.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Competent in IT applications including email, reporting tools, and maintenance management systems.

Full UK driving license.
