TR2 Recruitment are currently working with a leading Further Education provider who are looking for an experienced Carpentry & Joinery Lecturer to join their Apprenticeships department on a temporary basis, starting at the beginning of the new academic year.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced construction professional with a strong background in Carpentry & Joinery training and assessment, looking to secure a temporary teaching position within a well-established FE environment.

The Role

You will be responsible for delivering high-quality teaching, learning and assessment to Carpentry & Joinery apprentices, supporting learners to develop the practical skills, knowledge and behaviours required to achieve their apprenticeship standards.

The successful candidate will be confident working with apprentices and able to deliver engaging, industry-relevant sessions while maintaining high standards of learner support and assessment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality Carpentry & Joinery teaching and training to apprentices.
  • Plan and prepare engaging lessons and practical training sessions.
  • Assess learner progress against apprenticeship standards.
  • Provide constructive feedback and support to learners throughout their programme.
  • Maintain accurate learner records and assessment documentation.
  • Ensure all teaching and assessment meets relevant quality and compliance requirements.
  • Support apprentices in developing the practical skills and knowledge required within the construction industry.

The Ideal Candidate

The successful candidate will have:

  • Significant industry experience within Carpentry & Joinery.
  • Previous experience teaching, training or assessing apprentices.
  • A strong understanding of apprenticeship standards and assessment requirements.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to engage and motivate learners from a range of backgrounds.
  • A professional approach to safeguarding, learner support and assessment.
  • A current Enhanced DBS.

A recognised teaching qualification and relevant vocational qualifications are highly desirable.
