Are you an experienced and dynamic student services leader ready to drive impactful change in a fast-paced further education environment?

This College Group is seeking an Interim Director of Student Services to provide strategic leadership and operational oversight across all aspects of the student experience. This critical role supports the college’s mission of delivering outstanding education and support to a diverse learner population.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic leadership across safeguarding, wellbeing, learner support, enrichment, careers, and student voice

  • Oversee compliance with statutory duties including safeguarding, Prevent, and SEND provision

  • Lead and develop high-performing student services teams, embedding a culture of excellence, inclusivity, and continuous improvement

  • Ensure a consistently high-quality and student-centred experience that enhances retention, progression, and achievement

  • Collaborate with academic, support, and senior leadership teams to drive whole-college improvement initiatives

  • Represent the college with external stakeholders including Ofsted, local authorities, and funding agencies

The Ideal Candidate:

  • A senior leader with a proven track record in student services within the FE or wider education sector

  • Deep understanding of safeguarding, wellbeing, inclusion, and learner engagement strategies

  • Experienced in managing multi-disciplinary teams and complex service delivery

  • Strong communicator and relationship builder, capable of influencing at all levels

  • A calm, resilient professional able to navigate challenge and change with a solution-focused mindset
