We are working with a leading Further Education College who are seeking an exceptional leader to join their established team as Head of MIS, Timetabling & Admissions. This is a pivotal role overseeing three high-performing teams—MIS, Timetabling and Admissions—while driving innovation in data, reporting, automation and analytics to support outstanding performance across the College.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced and visionary professional to shape their information systems, deliver high-quality statutory data returns, enhance student experience, and lead our approach to reporting and business intelligence.


About the Role
  • As the Head of MIS, Timetabling & Admissions, you will:
  • Lead and develop the MIS, Timetabling and Admissions teams, ensuring clear priorities, high performance and continuous improvement.
  • Oversee the collection, maintenance and quality assurance of all curriculum and student data, ensuring compliance with ESFA, HESA, OfS and other statutory bodies.
  • Ensure the production and submission of accurate, timely external data returns.
  • Lead the reporting and analytics function to deliver insightful, actionable intelligence for strategic decision-making.
  • Produce and manage the annual timetabling process, ensuring efficient use of staff, rooms and resources.
  • Drive improvements in resource utilisation, including staff deployment, rooming, and class sizes.
  • Oversee the full Admissions function, ensuring efficient processes, excellent applicant experience and strong recruitment performance.
  • Implement innovative systems and automation to reduce administrative burden and enhance data quality.
  • Manage internal audit processes, identifying risks and ensuring strong compliance.
  • Work collaboratively with college faculties, senior leadership and other key stakeholders.
  • Ensure effective training and support for staff involved in attendance and register processes.

About You

  • Essential Qualifications & Experience
  • A good standard of education, including a degree (or equivalent)
  • Strong understanding of the FE sector, funding structures and related data requirements
  • Significant experience working with MIS in a large, complex organisation
  • Proven experience overseeing timetabling processes in education (or similar)
  • Experience developing reporting systems and analytics
  • Experience managing admissions processes
  • Strong analytical, mathematical and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrable experience in leading and developing individuals and teams
  • Ability to meet deadlines, work independently and navigate challenges effectively
  • High attention to detail, with a positive, innovative and self-starting approach
  • Commitment to delivering an exceptional standard of service

Desirable
  • Knowledge of the Pro Suite (ProSolution, ProMonitor, ProPortal)
  • Successful completion of the College’s Arctic Shores assessment (required before appointment)
