They are able to source and supply materials nationwide, making use of road, rail, river and marine to get materials to wherever they're needed. They are a highly proactive company, made up of can-do, positive and vibrant people and they are now in a period of growth and looking for an office administrator to join their current team.
Growing from within, there are lots of opportunities to progress, and with their own, in-house training academy, the development of all their staff is at the heart of what they do. Initially for 3-4 weeks, the position is on a temporary basis, however, there may be a permanent opportunity at the end of the contract too. The working hours are Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm.
Role Overview:
We are seeking an organised and proactive Office Administrator. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of the office by supporting administrative operations, handling customer and supplier communications, preparing quotes, and liaising with hauliers to coordinate deliveries and collections.
Key Responsibilities:
- Answering incoming calls and responding to general enquiries in a professional and friendly manner.
- Preparing and compiling customer quotes accurately and efficiently.
- Coordinating logistics by liaising with hauliers, couriers, and suppliers to arrange collections, deliveries, and transport schedules.
- Maintaining records and filing systems for orders, quotes, and invoices.
- Assisting with order processing and ensuring all relevant paperwork is completed correctly.
- Communicating with customers and suppliers via phone and email to provide updates, resolve queries, and ensure excellent service levels.
- Supporting the wider team with general office duties, including data entry, printing, scanning, and document preparation.
Skills & Experience Required:
- Previous experience in an administrative or office support role.
- Excellent telephone manner and strong interpersonal skills.
- High level of attention to detail and organisational ability.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Ability to multi-task and prioritise in a busy environment.
- Confident in communicating with customers, suppliers, and colleagues.
